I Got Sucked In

I started playing a game I haven’t played in a while…

It’s called Subnautica. You are a passenger on a space transporter ship, but it gets shot down and crashes on a planet that is 98% ocean. You have to collect resources and survive, but also find a way to get off the planet without being shot out of the sky…oh, and there’s a virus that’s killing you.

I get so sucked into these kinds of games because I sort of like busy work. Mindless farming is relaxing for me. It also passes time like NObody’s business.

Each completion of one small task leads to another small task that eventually completes a larger task.

I’ve also started this game three times because I really enjoy the beginning before you “go deeper”.

Someday I’ll actually finish the game…but until then I’ll be right back. I gotta go collect some copper and acid mushrooms…not what you’re thinking.

Random News

Discussing things that happened…

Time to talk about 5 things that’ve happened and state my random opinion about them:

  1. Instagram getting rid of likes…older news, but I didn’t want to do a random news sooner than a week after another one. Will this bring positive change? Who knows. Will it affect people who make a living on Instagram? Probably, but who knows for sure?
  2. CATS trailer #2 thoughts: Still looks creepy. They added a storyline…ok. They adjusted the coloring of Victoria’s (the white cat) fur…but not really? They added like jaguar spots and made her overall fur a little darker. Taylor Swift still annoys me. How DARE they turn Mr Mistoffelees (……all right, I don’t know how to spell his name from memory…) into a comedic side kick! He is supposed to be suave and like Rum Tum Tugger’s little buddy! COME ON! To be fair, it may not be like that, but it’s what I gathered from the trailer.
  3. Tesla’s new truck…um, what? I don’t understand…when did we revert back to late 90’s graphics? As video games become more realistic…Elon Musk makes the world more polygonal.
  4. Frozen 2 is now in theaters. Will it be better than the first movie? Will we all have to deal with thousands of children singing the same song poorly? I don’t know…I don’t care. The first movie to me had great music (except for one song), but the story was a little lacking. It was the opposite reaction I had for Tangled. Tangled had a strong story, but I wasn’t a fan of the music……..but Frozen is the one that got a sequel……..oh, well.
  5. Personal News: I will be going to a writer’s conference in February…on a cruise ship? I mean, as far as locations go…not bothered. I know the author who runs the conference and he’s given me a lot of feedback on my works in progress. But for this conference, I’m hoping to take the next step and, hopefully, get my book published in the next year or two. But we’ll see.

And that was 5 random news stories.

Anybut, thank you for joining me.

These were MY opinions on each. Your opinions may be different and that’s fine. Now on to more random things!!

Cookies

The ONLY good thing about all the holiday stuff on TV….

All the Holiday Baking competitions. Christmas cookies are definitely the one thing that doesn’t get old with Holiday stuff.

It’s the main thing I look forward to every year….mostly because I love eating them.

Sooooooo…..maybe stay tuned for Holiday Cookie Baking Posts????

Struggle Day

I wish this was a fun post…

But it’s not. I wanted to post more things yesterday, but I…had a struggle day.

Struggle Days are when the thoughts in my head I’m usually able to brush off seem to be on repeat even louder than normal.

Struggle Days are when I feel alone even though I know my friends are a phone call away.

Struggle Days are when every negative thing on the news makes it feel like there’s no hope for the world.

Struggle Days make it hard to concentrate on the things I love to do.

I had a struggle day.

And I wish I could’ve post more yesterday.

I’m okay, though. And I will post something else today.

I Have Left My Mark

Disneyland, as always, was fun…

Finally got to go to the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area. Rode the Smuggler’s Run attraction, the one where you fly the Millennium Falcon. I got to be an Engineer (though secretly I wanted to be a Gunner) and I did…AMAZING!

However!! I left my mark on the attraction. About halfway through….one of my nails fell off…my favorite nail…the middle finger on my left hand.

Oh well. Still had fun.

And I preferred green milk to the blue milk. The blue milk was a little too sweet for me.

Anybut, the only other interesting thing that happened……….was I think there was a bomb threat in Galaxy’s Edge? When we first got there they’d evacuated the land and about 20 minutes later a police helicopter flew over the area…….I’m not sure, but it seemed like the thing Disney does when there’s a viable threat.

BUT!!! That’s a story for another day.

Also, if I learn more, I will let you know what actually happened…maybe.

Way Down Hadestown

Way down under the ground…

If you need a song to jam to or dance alone in your room to, Way Down Hadestown is the one.

It’s jazzy, bouncy, and very New Orleans. The whole show is really, but this song is killer.

It got me thinking of other songs that are fun to dance to alone in your room…or at a club if you have a social life….and I realized there aren’t many from musicals even though they are made for dancing.

Maybe I’ll do a list of musical songs that would fit in clubs…and I don’t mean remixed versions…looking at you Defying Gravity.

Random Food Update

I have some sad news…

The Papa Johns close to my house is gone. I can no longer order delivery. If I want their pizza I have to drive to a further away Papa Johns and pick it up.

WHAT’S THE POINT?!

Guess I’m gonna eat less pizza…

And for those of you who hate Papa Johns pizza…whatever! The man may be a moron, but he doesn’t own it anymore.

This has been a random food update.

Random News…sort of

I have officially seen my FIRST holiday ad.

The culprit? T.J. MAXX!!!!

And to a lesser extent, the guy from Chuck……Zachary Levi? I think that’s right.

THAT IS ALL!!

Fall Clearing

I’m very productive…

When I procrastinate. I have things I need to do before January. So, instead of doing them, I do things I’ve needed to do for…3 years?

My point is I cleaned out my closet. I went through every single piece of clothing and decided what had/needed/should’ve gone.

And let me tell you, I did some real damage. I’m pretty sure I got rid of almost 75 pieces of clothing. Some things I’ve had since high school…woof.

A lot of things were items that were the wrong size and have ALWAYS been the wrong size. Like I bought them knowing full well they were the wrong size for me, but I thought, “Hey, some day I MIGHT fit into this.”

Oh, young, naive past-me. Deep down you knewin your heart that was never going to happen.

There were also things that were falling apart, but I loved them so much I didn’t want to let them go. But I did. I let them go. With minimal tears.

Anybut, now I need to find something else to procrastinate with…
